Researching the dynamic relationships between people and their natural environments towards sustainable futures.

About the Centre for Ethnoecology.

Ethnoecology, a multidisciplinary field, encompasses anthropology, craft, and sustainability. It investigates the intricate interplay between language, culture, and media in molding perceptions of the environment. This field goes beyond theoretical frameworks, delving into practical aspects such as biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and promoting social equity. Through an emphasis on empirical research and experiential knowledge, ethnoecology sheds light on the complex relationships between humans and the natural world, striving to foster a deeper understanding of our place within it.
